TRITIYA SOPAN SYLLABUS
PIONEERING:-
(A) Know how to deal with emergency situations such as drowning, electric shock, general shock, automobile accidents & human being caught in fire.
- Tie and know the use of the following:
- Fireman’s chair knot’ man harness knot 'bowline on a bite ,draw hitch.
- Tie & demonstrate the use of diagonal lashing
- Use another method of whipping other than the one used in Parham Sopan.
- Make a flag mast of at least three staves with your patrol & demonstrate flag break.
- Make a temporary shelter for yourself
- Know any one method of splicing :eye /back /short
- Swim fifty metres.
- Know the safety rules of swimming and
- know how to deal with cramps.
- Earn any follwing proficiency badges :
- Athlete
- camel man
- climber
- gymnast
- hiker
- games leader
- yoga
- cyclist
- Be able to estimate height ,depth , widths , numbers & weights using recognized methods of estimation.
(A) Know how to deal with emergency situations such as drowning, electric shock, general shock, automobile accidents & human being caught in fire.
- Treat choking.
- Deal with simple fracture of collar bone, upper arm, ,hip& lower leg.
- Treat for heat stroke and sun stroke.
- Demonstrate CPR (Cardio pulmonary resuscitation).
- Place an unconscious victim in the recovery position.
- Transportation of victim – one recovery position.
- Transportation of victim – one rescuer & two rescuers.
- Be able to access a GPS Map & use it to follow a given route.
- Draw a map of area using triangulation method with the help of compass or Plane Table Method.
- Sketch a map of the route undertaken for at least four kms by using road Traverse Method or Gilwell sketch.
- During the Troop Meeting give a talk about five minutes on any one of the following subjects:
- National Integration
- Child Abuse
- Substance Abuse
- Your future Scout Training
- Gender Equality
- Child Education, Child Health, Child Social security & Child Labour
- Free Being Me .
- Plan an overnight patrol camp.
- Undertake a day hike of ten kms on foot with patrol/troop members. prepare meals & tea . Make a report & submit it within a week after the hike is over. The hike route is to be given by the examiner.
- Participate in a night game.
- Cook food for your patrol by using backwoodsman method.
- Learn Morse signaling and able to send and receive simple messages of ten words.
- Qualify for any two of the following proficiency badges one from each group

- Pioneer
- World conservation
- Safety knowledge
- Self defence
- Citizen
- Book Binder

- Knowledge of scouting in India and WOSM (world Organization of Scout Movement)
- Know and understand the safety measures while using basic electrical or electronic devices making out gadgets useful at home under supervision of trained adult
- Complete any three of the following:
- a safety precaution with regards to fire .
- Demonstrate bucket chain method of putting of fire.
- How to tackle dry grass fire.
- Types of fire extinguishers and use of thereof .
- Know and understand the disease tuberculosis its symtom,treatment and precautionary measures to be preventing the disease knowledge about directly observed treatments (DOTS).
